On June 12th and 13th, the Hungarian city of Szeged hosted the meeting of the IMAGINE Project consortium ahead of the upcoming final conference, which will take place in Barcelona this December.
The Szeged meeting was a success in terms of both participation and organization. Participants expressed their appreciation for the excellent organization of the event and the thoughtful surprises prepared by András Balint, the meeting’s host and director of the Szeged Autumn Nursing Home.
During the visit, attendees had the opportunity to attended presentations delivered by consortium members and work package leaders, where they reviewed the activities carried out so far and shared the first results of the second audit phase (APO Audit) as well as preliminary analyses of the IMAGINE Project.
Although the conclusions are still provisional, they confirm that the strategy implemented by the IMAGINE Project is working and that the number of urinary tract infections in participating care homes appears to be decreasing. During the meeting, consortium members also discussed the next steps and the dissemination strategy for the final results.
As part of the project’s ongoing communication and dissemination efforts, the IMAGINE Project members agreed to develop additional materials for patients and care home healthcare staff. These resources will complement the existing ones, with the aim of making the identified best practices easier to understand and implement.
The next in-person meeting of the IMAGINE Project is scheduled for December in Barcelona, where the consolidated results and recommendations for broader implementation will be presented.
